What is on my Apple iPad?
The following lists all the Apps I have installed on my iPad with a
review as well as a link to the App. I even give a rating out of 5
stars. I have organized the Apps by subject:

iRdesktop |
by Thinstuff s.r.o is a remote
desktop app. I was able to setup a remote connection to a windows
2003 network in minutes by simply copying the settings from a
windows vista laptop. This is an iPhone app so it does not take full
advantage of the iPad screen and the scrolling can take a little
getting used to. I was able to view applications, edit and save with
no problems bring up the keyboard. I was not able to edit a server
once setup even though there is an edit button. This is a free app
and I will use until I find one that is more iPad friendly.

Evernote |
I have this App on my Blackberry
Storm and Laptop. It is great for making To-Do lists and they sync
through the Internet so you can see the latest list on each device.
The only problem I have with the iPad version is that I can change
the font to cross out to show I have finished an item on a list. |

Strip |
by Zetetic LLC. This is an
easy to use Password App that allows you to sync your
passwords over multiple devices. I have not tried to sync yet,
but when I do I will update this review. I did load in my iPad
and in 5 minutes had my own categories setup and a few passwords
saved. I like that I can add the web site and launch the web
site directly from the App |

BlogPress |
by CLT Studios
- This is a paid app for making blog posts that comes as an iPhone
or iPad app. You can setup multiple blogs as well as have your
Twitter and Facebook page updated when you make a blog post. Since
downloading, this app has become my primary way to post to both
the Business Plan Help Blog
and the Search
Airport Parking Airport News Blog. Both are hosted by
Blogger and setting BlogPress to publish to both was a snap. |

Twitter |
by Twitter Inc. -
The best feature of the app is the ability to setup multiple
accounts without having to sign in and sign out to change
accounts. You can also move lists and people you are following from
one account to another. Managing multiple accounts is important to
me because at any given time I am managing the BizPlanHelp Twitter
@SMBStrategy
as well as a personal account and accounts that I administer for
clients.

LinkedIn |
by LinkedIn -
this is an iPhone App with limited functionality. You can use
it to view your contacts and check updates but little else.
This app is a disappointment, but it is free. |

ABC Player |
I originally downloaded this App
because I wanted to see how streaming video looks. I was
disappointed at the shows available – the prime season is over. I
watch an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live and I am impressed by
video quality and sound through speakers. |

Sirius XM Premium |
by Sirius XM
Radio Inc. - This is a free iPhone App, but you have to pay for the
service. I am an existing Sirius subscriber with an Internet
Subscription and was able to sign in using my existing user/password
without a problem. All the music is here, but there are
channels that are online that are not in the App, most notably
Howard Stern's channels. |

|
Pandora |
by Pandora
Media Inc. This is an iPhone App, but if you are using an iPod
Touch, iPhone, or iPad, load this app sign up for the free service
and plug in the headphones. If you have never used Pandora,
you are missing out on an easy way to stream music that you want to
hear. |

yxplayer |
by mobilesoft.kr - I am not even
going to add a link for this App. This is a paid app that
worked when I first downloaded, but soon stopped working. No
response from an eMail to customer support, so get VLC Media
Player instead. |
|
|
VLC Media Player |
by Applidium - this is a free no
frills video player that works and is available in iPhone and iPad
flavors. I have not tried it when hooked up to a TV yet, but this is
the video app that iPad needed. I have heard rumors that VLC
might get pulled, so get it now. |

Talking Carl |
by Awyse - Carl is
a red animated creature that can best be described in a PC way as
Elmo's cousin that takes the short bus to school. You talk to Carl
and he repeats back in a high pitched mocking voice. You can also
get reactions from Carl by poking, pinching, and tickling. I have
recommending this app to a bunch of people with kids and every kid
has enjoyed. |

USA Today |
I only read this paper when I get it
free at a Hotel on the road, but I download app and I am surprised
at the quality of the app. App has same for sections as paper and
one you get used to the quirky navigation find it easy to use and
have used it every day since. |

iBooks |
by Apple Inc. The book reading
part of this App is great and it is also great for reading pdf
files, particularly long pdf files. The Search feature in the
Bookstore is not very good, which is a complaint I also have with
the App store. I am sure there will be updates throughout the
year and more books will be added. |

Kindle |
by Amazon.com
The reader portion of the App is equal to iBooks, but the title
availability and ease of finding books and other content make this
App superior. You can search for content from within the App
or go to the Amazon web site and when you make a purchase or select
free material you select the name you gave your iPad when you setup
the Kindle app and the next time you open the App the content is
there. What's missing? - Color. Unfortunately since the
Kindle device has a grayscale screen anything I have downloaded has
grayscale graphics. |

New York Post |
by NYP Holdings, Inc. This
iPad App was free and now costs $1.99, which gives you 30 days of
service. I am going to hold off writing a review and rating it
until I have used it for a few days, so stay tuned. |

Solitaire |
by MobilityWare - I do not think this game needs
explanation. It was a mistake loading this App as I found myself
playing over and over. It is a Free App and includes
advertising, but the ads only show between games. |
